Guided by Voices was formed in 1983 and disbanded in 2004. Although the line-up often faced frequent changes, founding member Robert Pollard was always a central songwriter throughout the bands career. The band’s signature lo-fi sound is derived from using a four-track recorder to produce many of their songs.
